DESCRIPTION:Prof. Huadong Guo from Academician of Chinese Academy of Scienc
es (CAS) Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) will give a
presentation entitled "Recent Progress in Space-borne and Moon-based Earth
Observation"\n\nAbstract: China’s Earth observation technologies and ap
plications have made a lot of progress in recent years. First\, four remot
e sensing satellite series have been developed including meteorological sa
tellites\, resource satellites\, environmental satellites\, and ocean sate
llites. Second\, a high-resolution Earth observation system has been launc
hed containing seven optical and microwave satellites. Third\, the Shenzho
u spacecraft and Tiangong space labs are serving as a new type of Earth ob
servation platform. Earth observation data have been applied at global\, r
egional and national levels across different fields. Furthermore\, the sci
entific concept of Moon-based Earth observation is being studied for the p
urpose of understanding and exploring large-scale geoscience phenomena.\n\
