DESCRIPTION:Established in the year 2000\, the IEEE Islamabad section is de
dicated to serve the community via technology. The section has more than 6
50 members including more than 100 senior members. The section provides a
conducive environment where aspiring engineers can connect\, collaborate\,
and engage in activities that enhance their academic and professional dev
elopment. All the activities of the section are aligned with UN Sustainabl
e Development Goals (SDGs). The section fully supports the diversity & inc
lusion and has different affinity groups including women in engineering an
d young professionals.\n\nEven though IEEE Islamabad Section promotes stud
ent centric development approach\, however\, the section has nearly 50% in
active and dormant student branches. Therefore\, it was critical to conduc
t student summit here in Islamabad. Being a medium section\, the IEEE Isla
mabad Section joined the common plenary conducted by IEEE Region 10 SAC on
21st\, September 2024 with approx. 80 participants from the section atten
ded the event. The section also organized an in-person sectional assembly
on 7th October 2024 covering topics on Ethics\, diversity & inclusion\, pr
ofessional development\, volunteer leadership training\, IEEE benefits and
mentorship program for inactive student branches. The event offered stude
nts a thorough understanding and exposure to IEEE operations and activitie
s\, equipping them to become future leaders. Its goals include increasing
memberships\, reactivating dormant student branches\, and fostering commun
ity engagement. More than 80 participants from more than 10 student branch
es and chapters attended the event. The talks were delivered by senior IEE
E members and experienced volunteers. The IEEE Day 2024 was also celebrate
d.\n\nAs an outcome of the event\, it is anticipated that the inactive or
dormant student branches will be revived\, and an additional 2-3 new stude
nt branches or chapters will be established.\n\n[]\n\nHITEC University\, T
