DESCRIPTION:On October 1\, 2024 on the ocassion of IEEE day\, our IEEE Stud
ent Branch STB30721 - V.P. Dr PG Hallakatti College of Eng & Tech is celeb
rating IEEE WEEK from 1st October to 5th October on that occassion\, The S
eminar on "Modern Approach towards Placements & Internships" was organized
\, targeting final-year students to provide them with critical insights in
to navigating the ever-evolving job market. As the job landscape continues
to shift with technological advancements\, this seminar aimed to offer st
udents actionable knowledge on how to secure successful placements and int
ernships in today’s highly competitive environment.\n\nThe session was l
ed by Mr. AbuSufiyan Maniyar\, an industry expert with significant experie
nce in Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technology. Currently w
orking as an SD2 and SD-WAN engineer at Versa Networks\, Bangalore\, Mr. M
aniyar shared his real-world experience in the software and networking ind
ustries\, providing invaluable insights to the attendees. His educational
background in Computer Science Engineering and ongoing pursuit of a diplom
a in System Design further highlighted his credibility as a mentor for the
students aspiring to enter technical fields.\n\nThe seminar primarily foc
used on the following aspects:\n\nModern Strategies for Securing Placement
s: A step-by-step guide to preparing for technical and non-technical inter
views\, building strong resumes\, and approaching placement processes with
a strategic mindset.\n\nInternship Opportunities: Emphasis on the importa
nce of internships as gateways to full-time roles\, the types of internshi
ps available in the tech industry\, and how to make the most of internship
experiences.\n\nIndustry Expectations: Mr. Maniyar shed light on the skil
ls and knowledge that industry leaders are currently prioritizing. This in
cluded essential programming languages\, problem-solving capabilities\, fa
miliarity with cloud technologies\, and more.\n\nPreparing for the Future:
With the world increasingly leaning toward automation\, digital transform
ation\, and AI-driven processes\, students were encouraged to stay updated
on the latest technologies and continuously upskill themselves.\n\nA part
icularly engaging portion of the event was the interactive Q&A session\, w
here students posed questions regarding placement strategies\, interview t
ips\, technical certifications\, and resume-building practices. Mr. Maniya
r answered questions in detail\, offering tailored advice based on the stu
dents' queries and providing tips on navigating the placement and internsh
ip processes effectively.\n\nThroughout the event\, the emphasis was place
d not only on academic achievements but also on soft skills\, networking\,
and the ability to adapt to dynamic work environments. Mr. Maniyar's advi
ce regarding maintaining an online portfolio and leveraging platforms like
LinkedIn to connect with recruiters added an extra layer of practical gui
dance for students keen to enter the job market with confidence.\n\nThis t
echnical seminar was designed as a non-competitive learning platform\, all
owing students to gain knowledge without the pressure of assessments or ro
unds. Instead\, the focus was on providing students with tools to build th
eir career paths effectively.\n\nAt the end of the session\, all participa
nts were provided with participation certificates as a token of their invo
lvement in the event. These certificates not only reflected their particip
ation but also symbolized their commitment to learning and preparing for t
heir professional journey.\n\nThe seminar was highly appreciated by studen
ts\, with several attendees noting how relevant and practical the advice w
as in the current job market scenario. Many students expressed their grati
tude for the detailed discussion of topics such as resume building\, inter
view preparations\, and the importance of adaptability in the tech field.
Attendees also highlighted how the real-world examples shared by Mr. Maniy
ar helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry expect
ations.\n\nThe seminar concluded with a note of encouragement from the spe
aker\, urging students to stay determined\, continue expanding their skill
set\, and remain open to new learning opportunities. The IEEE Student Bra
nch extended their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. AbuSufiyan Maniyar for his t
ime and valuable insights\, as well as to the organizing committee for mak
ing this event a success.\n\nThe event is conducted under the guidance of
branch counselor prof. Sunanda Alur\, Senior IEEE member Dr. Veeresh Gonal
 \, and principal Dr.V.G. Sangam.\n\nCo-sponsored by: R0011902 - North Kar
