DESCRIPTION:Talk of Prof. Pablo Angueira\, Dpt. of Communication Engineerin
g\, Bilbao Faculty of Engineering\, University of the Basque Country (UPV/
EHU)\n\nThe presentation will cover the basics of the draft new standard
“IEEE P3888: Draft Standard for the Performance Assessment of Industrial
Wireless Systems”.\nThis standard defines an RF reference environment m
odel\, test methodology\, and evaluation process for performance testing o
f industrial wireless networks. It is protocol-agnostic\, applicable to al
l wireless protocols used in mission-critical industrial settings where sy
stem reliability is crucial\, such as industrial sensing and automation sy
stems. These wireless systems carry essential data for sensor\, actuator\,
command\, and control functions in optimization and safety applications.
The standard provides a model for radio impairments\, a reference test arc
hitecture\, and key performance metrics for evaluating the test setup and
wireless systems. It also outlines a framework for standardized test profi
les.\nThe presentation will describe the motivation and driving philosophy
of the Technical Working Group behind this new standard. The talk will us
e a profiling example to illustrate the application of the methods propose
d in the standard.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Silicon Austria Labs\, Johannes Kep
 ler University Linz\n\nSpeaker(s): Pablo Angueira\n\nRoom: 4th Floor\, Tra
unstein meeting forum\, Bldg: Science Park 4\, Johannes Kepler University
