DESCRIPTION:The IEEE SRMCEM Student Branch\, in collaboration with various
societies and affinity groups\, recently organized a remarkable plantation
drive in celebration of IEEE Day. This initiative reflected the core valu
es of IEEE\, emphasizing sustainability\, community welfare\, and environm
ental responsibility. The plantation drive aimed to promote awareness abou
t the importance of trees in combating climate change\, improving air qual
ity\, and enhancing the overall ecological balance.\n\nA significant highl
ight of the event was the participation of Er. Sandhya Srivastava\, our es
teemed Women in Engineering (WIE) advisor. Her presence added immense valu
e to the drive\, inspiring students and participants to actively contribut
e to this noble cause. Er. Srivastava\, a strong advocate for women in STE
M\, shared her insights on the crucial role engineers play in preserving t
he environment and how small steps like planting trees can create a lastin
g impact. She emphasized that such events not only contribute to the envir
onment but also instill a sense of social responsibility among students.\n
\nThe plantation drive saw active involvement from members across IEEE\, i
ncluding the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS)\, Power and Energy Soci
ety (PES)\, and the affinity group Women in Engineering (WiE). Together\,
they planted a variety of native saplings around the campus\, ensuring tha
t these plants would thrive in the local environment.\n\nParticipants were
given a brief session on the significance of tree plantation\, followed b
y hands-on experience in planting saplings. It was an engaging and enrichi
ng event that fostered collaboration and teamwork. Through such initiative
s\, the IEEE SRMCEM Student Branch continues to inspire young engineers to
lead the way in addressing global challenges\, ensuring a greener and mor
e sustainable future.\n\nThe initiative also focused on ensuring that thes
e plants would thrive by involving students in their continued care and ma
intenance.\n\nThe event was a success\, reinforcing the IEEE Day theme of
advancing technology for the benefit of humanity while contributing positi
 vely to environmental sustainability.\n\n[]\n\n[][][]\n\nSRMCEM LUCKNOW\,
