DESCRIPTION:IEEE Day celebrations were continued with the same enthusiasm a
nd zeal with our second event "IEEE PaperQuest 2024". Here the students go
t the opportunity to explore papers written corresponding to the various e
ngineering domains and this also helped them in understanding the proper f
ormat and method of writing a paper.\n\n[]\n\nAgenda: \nIEEE PaperQuest 20
24: A Journey Through Technical Innovation\n\nAs part of the IEEE Day cele
brations\, the IEEE Student Branch at Don Bosco College of Engineering\, G
oa organized IEEE PaperQuest 2024 on October 4th\, 2024. Themed Journey Th
rough Technical Innovation\, the event aimed to enhance participants’ sk
ills in research methodologies\, paper analysis\, and presentation techniq
ues by working with research papers sourced from IEEE Xplore. With over 60
students participating\, the event featured four technical tracks: Digita
l Systems and VLSI\, Remote Sensing and GIS\, Robotics and Control Systems
\, and Machine Learning\, Cloud\, and Data Analytics\, providing a compreh
ensive platform for students to learn and showcase their expertise.\n\nThe
hosts opened the event by emphasizing the significance of IEEE Day\, whic
h celebrates advancements in technology that contribute to the progress of
humanity. They also underscored the event’s core goal—equipping stude
nts with the skills to effectively analyze\, present\, and discuss researc
h papers\, fostering a deeper understanding of technical innovations.\n\nT
rack Summaries\n\n1. Digital Systems and VLSI Track\n\nThe Digital Systems
and VLSI track kicked off with presentations on the latest advancements i
n the accelerators\, computations\, testing & testability. The participant
s engaged the audience with their knowledge and were further enriched by i
nsightful question-and-answer sessions with the judges\, Dr. Vidhya D. S a
nd Prof. Maria Christina Barretto.\n\n2. Remote Sensing and GIS Track\n\nT
his track delved into the real-world applications of GIS and Remote Sensin
g in areas like urban planning\, disaster management\, and environmental m
onitoring. The research presented explored the practical implications of t
hese technologies\, and the session was evaluated by Dr. Shweta Prasanna a
nd Prof. Melba D’Souza\, who provided thought-provoking feedback to the
participants.\n\n3. Machine Learning and Data Analytics Track\n\nFocusing
on innovative approaches in data analysis\, machine learning\, and artific
ial intelligence\, this track featured eight teams who presented their res
earch across various applications. The judges\, Dr. Gaurang Patkar and Pro
f. Deron Rodrigues\, engaged in stimulating discussions with the participa
nts\, offering valuable feedback that enhanced the learning experience for
all.\n\n4. Robotics and Control Systems Track\n\nThe Robotics and Control
Systems track showcased cutting-edge research\, with topics ranging from
Robust Wireless Control of a Six-Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle to Object-Awa
re and Precision Grasping for Robotic Arms and RFID-Based Semi-Autonomous
Robotics Library Management Systems. Judges Dr. Shreyas Simu and Prof. Fla
via Leitao commended the participants for their creativity and technical p
rowess\, offering guidance for further improvement.\n\nProf. Yeshudas Mutt
u\, the IEEE DBCE SB Counselor\, presented tokens of appreciation to the j
udges at the end of each session. The event’s various tracks were hosted
by Mr. Hrishikesh Bhave\, Mr. Soham Tulaskar\, and Mr. Vihaan Naik Karmal
i\, who kept the audience engaged throughout the day. The event concluded
with a group photo\, capturing the spirit of IEEE PaperQuest 2024—a cele
bration of collaboration\, innovation\, and learning\, marking the student
s' journey through technical innovation.\n\nDon Bosco College of Engineeri
