DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Student Ch
 apter at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte organized a day of 
 activities to discuss interdisciplinarity in biomedical engineering as par
 t of IEEE Day 2024.\n\nThe event featured speakers from the fields of clin
 ical engineering\, biological signal processing\, neuroscience\, bioinform
 atics\, and rehabilitation engineering.\n\nThe Student Chapter volunteers 
 worked hard to promote the event and were recognised by teachers and stude
 nts at the university. Throughout the programme there were mini-courses on
  3D modelling and using the R language for bioinformatics. At the end of t
 he programme\, a roundtable discussion brought together graduates of the u
 niversity's biomedical engineering course who are currently working in res
 earch\, the market and industry.\n\nThe event was attended by around 60 st
 udents from the Exact Sciences and Engineering programmes. This was an exc
 ellent platform for the IEEE EMBS UFRN Student Chapter\, which was reactiv
 ated less than a year ago\, to gain a foothold and become known among the 
 university's students.\n\nWe believe that solving the world's problems nec
 essarily involves interdisciplinarity and bringing together creative minds
  from different fields of knowledge\, and this was the focus of the event.
