DESCRIPTION:IEEE Madison’s November 7th 3 pm tour is at the Wisconsin Ins
titute for Discovery’s Saha Lab where they use CRISPR technology for add
ressing inherited retinal disorders. We’ll tour the lab\, see a CRISPR m
achine and see how the output is used.\n\nWelcome to the CRISPR Vision Pro
gram at the University of Wisconsin- Madison! UW – Madison is a part of
the Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) Consortium funded by the National I
nstitutes of Health (NIH). We're innovating non-viral gene editing therapi
es for inherited retinal disorders. Our work aims to bring the groundbreak
ing potential of CRISPR technology to those affected by these diseases.\n\
nThe labs focus lies in overcoming the limitations of existing viral deliv
ery systems and introducing novel\, non-viral treatments for inherited eye
diseases\, particularly those affecting the retinal pigment epithelium.\n
\nAs a part of the SCGE Consortium\, the lab is working in a community ded
icated to developing safe and effective gene editing methods to treat gene
tic diseases in somatic cells.\n\nRelated links for your review\n\n[https:
