DESCRIPTION:Event Details\n\nThis presentation will cover research and appl
ications of data science and artificial intelligence at the Children’s H
ospital of Orange County. Studies and applications encompassing classical
machine learning\, causal inference\, NLP\, and computer vision will be pr
esented. Real-world challenges to data science in health care will also be
covered in all cases.\n\nAbout the Speaker\, Dr. Louis Ehwerhemuepha\n\nD
r. Louis Ehwerhemuepha leads the research data science program at the Chil
dren's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) as the Director of Computational R
esearch. He built and works with a diverse team to develop and manage a pe
diatric data science research program that supports CHOC's mission to nurt
ure\, advance\, and protect the health and well-being of children. His tea
m of data scientists and engineers leverage machine learning\, explainable
AI\, and statistical methods to generate insights and solutions for vario
us clinical and operational challenges. This includes applications across
all modality of clinical data from structured real-world EHR data to image
s and clinical notes.\n\nIn collaboration with clinicians\, researchers\,
and administrators\, he designs and deploys data science models in the EHR
\, enabling improved decision making\, patient outcomes\, and quality of c
are. He is an associate adjunct professor of pediatrics in UCI\, and an ad
junct faculty with the Schmid College of Science at Chapman University. He
is passionate about advancing the field of pediatric and lifespan data sc
ience\, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence at CHOC and a
cross the US.\n\nNOTE: This is an IN PERSON meeting and you should resigst
