DESCRIPTION:Join the IEEE Benelux Section Life Members Affinity Group on a 
 visit to Siemens Digital Industries Software in Heverlee\, Belgium. The co
 mpany started as LMS\, Leuven Measurement Systems\, the second spin-off of
  KU Leuven\, in 1979\, bringing advanced testing\, analysis and simulation
  software solutions to the worldwide automotive\, aerospace and other high
  performance industry markets. After a successful expansion over 30 years\
 , LMS was acquired by Siemens in 2013 to complement the Siemens Digital In
 dustries Software portfolio with its unique solutions\, to become the head
 quarters of the Simulation and Testing Solutions Segment.\n\nAfter an intr
 oduction to the company\, an overview will be presented how the various so
 ftware solutions address the evolving customer challenges in industry\, fo
 r example for vehicle electrification and autonomous driving. Continuously
  building on technology innovations in signal processing\, system identifi
 cation\, numerical modelling but also cloud computing has been pivotal to 
 the company success. As a recent trend\, the way how AI can be leveraged i
 nto these solutions will be discussed. This is then followed by a tour in 
 the engineering facilities where advanced customer projects as well as met
 hod research are performed\, with e.g. the acoustic test hall\, a vehicle
