DESCRIPTION:At our latest event\, IoT in Smart Farming\, organized in colla
boration with IEEE SIGHT ENIS SBG and IEEE PES ENIS SBC\, we introduced pa
rticipants to the powerful potential of the Internet of Things in transfor
ming agricultural practices. Led by Ms. Amina Kessentini\, an Electrical E
ngineer with a Master’s in Electronic Engineering and a researcher in em
bedded systems\, the session began with an introduction to IoT and AI appl
ications in the energy sector\, setting the foundation for understanding s
mart farming technology. Ms. Kessentini then guided participants through t
he different types of sensors\, boards and essential components used in Io
T\, including ESP32. The hands-on segment allowed attendees to work with t
hese components directly\, constructing smart farming prototypes designed
to monitor environmental conditions such as soil moisture\, temperature\,
and light. By building these models\, participants gained a practical unde
rstanding of how IoT can improve farming efficiency and sustainability.\n\
nThe event concluded with a collaborative project-building session\, where
each team developed unique prototypes tailored to address real-life farmi
ng challenges. It was a fantastic opportunity to experiment with coding\,
circuit design\, and data collection\, providing participants with valuabl
e skills to innovate in agriculture. This engaging experience highlighted
the transformative impact of IoT on modern farming and inspired many to ex
plore further innovations in sustainable agriculture.\n\n[]\n\nSpeaker(s):
