DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Tallahassee Area Section and the PES Chapter are co-sp
 onsoring the 2024 ECE Graduating PhD Research Presentation Competition.\n\
 nFour graduating PhD students (listed below) will do a 15-minute presentat
 ion on their research. The presentations will be judged and 2 awards will 
 be given: (1) IEEE PES PhD Presentation Award and (2) IEEE Section PhD Pre
 sentation Award. Each award winner will also get $200.\n\nCompeting PhD Pr
 esenters (in tentative order of presentation) are:\n\n- Sophia Owais (Advi
 sor: Dr. Faruque) "Quantum Random walk: Building the bridge from quantum c
 omputation to machine learning"\n- Weiwei Wang (Advisor: Dr. V. DeBrunner)
  "Very Efficient Convolutional Neural Network Based on Discrete Hirschman 
 Transform"\n- Satish Vadula (Advisor: Dr. Anubi) "Fault-tolerant Decentral
 ized Control for Inverter-based Resources"\n- Paul Mensah (Advisor: Dr. Pa
 midi) "Cryogenic Electrical Insulation for Superconducting Power Distribut
 ion Systems"\n\nFollowing the presentations there will be pizza and bevera
 ges available while the judges determine the winners.\n\nCome out and supp
