AI empowers computers with the ability to perceive\, reason\, and learn\, ena bling them to mimic and simulate human cognitive processes. Machine learni ng\, a core aspect of AI\, allows systems to recognize patterns\, make inf ormed decisions\, and improve performance over time through experience and data.\n\nIn this talk\, we will explore the fundamental concepts of AI\, various search algorithms\, decision-making in complex environments\, adva ncements in the field\, and the future of AI. Despite its relatively short history\, AI has achieved remarkable progress and continues to drive tran sformative changes across the globe.\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\nLiang Zhang ( Member\, IEEE) received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the New J ersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)\, Newark\, NJ\, USA\, in 2020. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering and Avia tion Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES)\, Princes s Anne\, MD\, USA. Prior to joining UMES\, Dr. Zhang was a Postdoctoral Re search Fellow at George Mason University\, Fairfax\, VA\, USA.\n\nDr. Zhan g has received several prestigious honors\, including the Outstanding Diss ertation Award from NJIT in 2023\, the Hashimoto Prize for the best doctor al dissertation at NJIT in 2020\, the IEEE GLOBECOM Travel Grant Award in 2016\, and the Best Paper Award at IEEE ICNC in 2014. He has authored 33 p ublications in leading journals and conferences and has served as a review er for numerous IEEE Transactions journals.
