  Technology Council of Houston for the 2017 Awards Celebration\n\nThe Rece
 ption will provide time for networking among Engineering\, Science &amp; Techn
 ology Council of Houston (ECH) member societies regarding common interests
  and challenges. Area leaders in K-12 Outreach will discuss opportunities 
 for ECH member societies. In addition\, Science Fair Grand Prize winners a
 nd Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) Summer Interns will display th
 eir exhibits and discuss their projects.\n\nSaud Memon will present the HM
 NS Interns for this summer and will briefly discuss the annual intern prog
 ram. HMNS appreciates the local science and engineering organizations\, su
 ch as ECH\, that support this program\, and welcomes other societies to ac
 tively participate in this program. There are always opportunities for mor
 e summer internships. The interns research\, build\, and automate some of 
 the permanent exhibits of the museum and planetarium. For example\, they b
 uilt the molecular models in the Chemistry Hall and developed the interact
 ive Q&amp;A on the associated touch screens. Interns also wrote the upgraded c
 omputer programming for the planetarium\, the butterfly exhibit\, and the 
 live feed from the oceanographic research ship\, Nautilus. They also condu
 ct museum tours for students.\n\nAnnual Excellence in Education awards wil
 l be announced after dinner. They recognize particularly successful progra
 ms by corporations\, nonprofit organizations\, and school systems.\n\nCo-s
