itle: Harnessing hydrogen for Alberta's gas grid.\n\nPresenter: Greg Caldw
ell\n\nSummary: ATCO is working in alignment with Alberta's Hydrogen Road
map and the province's Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan to
integrate hydrogen into the heating network. ATCO is poised to build the i
nitial infrastructure necessary to enable the creation of a clean hydrogen
economy in the province\, unlocking new opportunities for growth while ad
dressing the pressing issue of emissions reduction. This presentation will
explore the status of the hydrogen initiative\, its impact on heating cus
tomers across Alberta\, and the transformative economic opportunities for
the region.\n\nBio: Greg Caldwell serves as Director of Policy & Advocacy
at ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd.\, where he utilizes his expertise in energy
systems and finance to drive sustainable\, secure\, and cost-effective en
ergy solutions that are vital to both Canada’s economic stability and na
tional security.\n\nHe supports strategic initiatives in low-emission tech
nologies\, such as hydrogen and renewable gas\, while acknowledging the cr
itical role of conventional energy infrastructure in sustaining the unprec
edented standard of living enabled by abundant\, reliable\, and affordable
energy. His approach emphasizes balancing forward-thinking innovation wit
h the practical reality that robust energy systems are foundational to nat
ional security\, healthcare\, education\, manufacturing\, and agriculture.
