DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Florida West Coast Section Power & Energy Society/Indu
stry Applications Society (PES/IAS)\, in partnership with GE Grid Solution
s\, invites you to an exclusive tour of the GE/ITI Clearwater Instrument T
ransformer Facility. This facility is GE’s primary manufacturing site fo
r instrument transformers rated below 69 kV\, producing over 500\,000 dry-
type transformers annually for utility and industrial applications. This e
vent will feature two key components:\n\nClassroom Session (2 hours):\n\nG
ain a deeper understanding of instrument transformers\, including what set
s them apart\, their various types\, applications\, and how to interpret n
ameplate data. The session will also explore their role in the industry’
s future and include an introduction to capacitors.\n\nFactory Tour (1.5 h
ours):\n\nExperience a guided walk-through of the factory floor\, observin
g key processes such as component production\, core manufacturing\, transf
ormer winding\, casting\, and final testing. As a special addition\, the t
our will include a brief visit to the capacitor production area\, located
in the same facility.\n\nA complimentary lunch will be provided following
the tour.\n\nParticipants are required to wear safety shoes and safety gla
sses. The facility does have safety shoe covers available\, but supplies a
re limited\, please include during registration if you will need a shoe co
ver + shoe size. Hearing protection will be provided at the necessary loca
tions. Additional information regarding parking and other instructions wil
l be provided ahead of the event via email to those registered.\n\nCo-spon
