DESCRIPTION:Transfer Switch 101:\nTransfer Switch Fundamentals – This ses
sion will focus on Transfer Switches\, understanding their purpose in the
electrical system. We will explore the elements of a transfer switch and a
bypass isolation transfer switch along with the different methods of tran
sferring between sources and their strengths and weaknesses in specific ap
plications. Code compliance is critical so we will explore the codes and s
tandards that reference transfer switches.\n\nPower Control Systems:\nPara
lleling Switchgear Design Basics – This session will focus on Generator
synchronizing switchgear controls and System Master Controls in emergency
power and closed transition modes of operation. We will address priority l
oad controls to ensure that essential facility loads are connected when em
ergency power is necessary. We’ll also cover Applicable UL\, ANSI and Se
 ismic standards.\n\nSource Isolation Switching/New Energy Landscape:\nAs t
echnology continues to mature and the need for uninterrupted power becomes
increasingly critical\, the standby power landscape is evolving beyond tr
aditional generators. Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) are now assuming
multiple roles in these systems\, prompting a reevaluation of how they ca
n be effectively deployed to ensure operational reliability and compliance
with codes and standards in resilience applications. This session will de
lve into the evolving market dynamics\, changing codes\, and emerging arch
itectures that facilitate the integration of DERs for backup power\, even
 within critical standby systems.\n\nSpeaker(s): Victor\, Pete\, Robert \n\
nAgenda: \nThe seminar fee includes lunch\, refreshments and handouts. Non
-members joining IEEE within 30 days of the seminar will be rebated 50% of
the IEEE registration charge.\n\nFour hours of instruction will be provid
ed. If desired\, IEEE Continuing Education Units (0.4 CEUs) will be offere
d for this course - a small fee of $55 will be required for processing.\n\
nPlease pay attention to the “Registration Fee” and choose the appropr
