DESCRIPTION:The architecture of the 5G network\, and the anticipated 6G net
work\, will predominantly be virtualized and rely on software functionalit
ies. These virtualization trends extend from the core to the Radio Access
Network (RAN) functionalities. The decoupling of software and hardware\, o
pen interfaces\, containerization and virtualization\, and the open source
code principle provide ample opportunities for AI-assisted innovation ove
r testbeds. In the talk\, we examine an ongoing project where we develop a
distributed federation platform that enables agile AI-assisted network se
rvice delivery over cross-sector open networks. We will explore the intric
acies of open testbeds and their federation platform. Particularly\, a net
work service use case over the federated networks will be discussed\, show
casing how semantic network management is achieved using machine learning
and generative AI techniques.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Instituto de Telecomunic
