 ss that goes through the electrification of the economy and it is supporte
 d by renewables within a sustainable energy model.\nThis means a change of
  paradigm which heads towards an immediate exciting future full of challen
 ges at all levels associated with flexibility in its widest conception. It
  is assumed that a change of paradigm\, that requires changing the focus f
 rom active based asset management towards the digitalization that ensures 
 resiliency and security for the future electric systems.\nIn this context\
 , we need to contribute and stimulate the exchange of ideas from different
  perspectives and experiences\, creating a framework of reflection through

 apidly\, which creates major challenges for the system operational reliabi
 lity\, stability and balancing. We are moving towards a power system with 
 a higher share of weather-dependent electricity production that is connect
 ed via power electronics/converters\, while at the same time the predictab
 le electricity production constitutes a decreasing portion of the total vo
 lume. Generation is also increasingly connected to the distribution system
  instead to the transmission system\, and more large loads/consumption fac
 ilities are being present. There is also a geographical redistribution of 
 both electricity production and consumption\, which leads to changed power
  flows. In addition\, more converters are being commissioned elsewhere in 
 the power system\, for example in HVDC systems\, battery storage and end u
 sers in energy-intensive industries\, etc. These are just some of the chal
 lenges that the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) worldwide are facing 
 nowadays.\n\nIn this specific seminar\, Marina will briefly present the ma
 in mission\, task\, role and collective responsibility of the Swedish TSO 
 (Svenska kraftnät) while particularly focusing on:\n\n- the ongoing and f
 oreseen development of the Swedish power system and on\n\n- the key stabil
 ity aspects (as well as related challenges/opportunities and potential mea
 sures) that follow this development and are to be addressed in order to ta
 ckle the energy transition.\n\nFinally\, as the IEEE PES Diversity Equity 
 and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Initiatives Member\, Marina will close the p
 resentation by reflecting upon the DEI mission and its current activities.
