DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Alabama Section eagerly anticipates an illuminating jo
int presentation by David Chandler and Bryan Owings on Microchip Frequency
and Time Systems for Telecom and Power Industries.\n\nTime and Frequency
are critical commodities for the telecommunications and power industries.
From the spectral purity of a signal to synchronization across a network\,
the clocks and distribution systems provided by Microchip ensure seamless
data and voice signals across the globe. In the power industry\, the gree
n energy revolution has led to new precision timing demands on the grid as
renewable power sources contribute noncontinuous sources of power generat
ion. In this presentation we will discuss both industries’ demands on ti
me and frequency\, and the innovative solutions provided by Microchip to m
eet the requirements.\n\nTechnical Reference article: IEEE Spectrum Organi
zation monthly magazine November 2024: Squeezing an Optical Atomic Clock i
nto a Briefcase\n\nThis article should spur us on to read our monthly tech
nical publication each month and broaden our knowledge.\n\nPLEASE register
for this event to help have a list of participants to mark present and em
ail PDH forms. Continue requesting PDHs to ensure you receive your PDH.\n\
 nPlease email [RoyBrown@southernco.com](mailto:roybrown@southernco.com) af
ter attending the event if you want a PDH certificate.\n\nContact Roy lee
brown if you cannot log in: 205-842-6761 or email for help.\n\nI will emai
l you a Link that works for me.\n\nWe look forward to you joining us and s
