DESCRIPTION:Widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EV) will lead to a mo
re sustainable future\, but it can’t happen without a robust and accessi
ble EV charging network. The ability to charge electric vehicles efficient
ly and economically without overloading the power system is critical and d
epends on a reliable electrical infrastructure.\n\nTo better understand th
ese evolving needs\, research must be done to gather data on the practical
application of the EV charging networks. Some of that research is being d
one at Eaton’s Power Systems Experience Center (PSEC) in Pittsburgh\, PA
\, headed by IEEE Senior Member\, Dan Carnovale. He will provide a virtual
tour and presentation of the PSEC’s EV charging research.\n\nWe will th
en discuss the design considerations for planning new EV charging infrastr
ucture and modifying existing infrastructure to accommodate EV charging ne
eds.\n\nNote\, this location is capacity-limited\, so please sign up early
