DESCRIPTION:IEEEXtreme is 24-Hours competitive programming challenge hosted
by IEEE in which teams of IEEE Student members\, often supported by an IE
EE Student Branch and proctored by an IEEE member\, compete in a 24-hour t
ime span against each other to solve a set of programming challenges set b
y industry and academic experts around the world. Teams of up to three stu
dent IEEE members receive sets of programming problems over 24 hours on th
e competition date. All teams receive the same problems to solve and are e
xpected to solve the problems without direct outside consultation. IEEEXtr
eme Teams don’t need to tackle every problem\, but the more they solve\,
the more points they score. Students submit their solutions using an onli
ne tool. Points are awarded based on how the problem was solved\, the time
it took\, and its difficulty. Higher-grade IEEE members serve as judges a
nd proctors for the competition. IEEEXtreme started in 2006 with 40 teams
and currently hosting 2600+ teams globally. The competition serves as a pl
atform for student members to compete with talents spread around the world
. The talk will focus on the importance of participation in Xtreme like pr
ogramming competition and efforts taken by IEEEXtreme team to build awaren
ess globally.\n\nSpeaker(s): Prasanth Mohan - Associate Engineer at REDD\,
