DESCRIPTION:"Hydropower Generation"\n\nby\n\n[]\n\nEdson Bortoni\n\nResumen
\n\nThe presentation presents general facts of hydropower generation aroun
d the world\, design characteristics\, modern application supporting renew
able energy generation. Special attention is paied to the main civil and m
echanical components\, hydroturbines and to the electrical machines applie
d to the small and big hydropower stations.\n\nBiografía\n\nEdson C. Bort
oni (Senior Member\, IEEE) was born in Maringaì\, Brazil\, in 1966. He re
ceived the bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Federal
University of Itajubaì (UNIFEI)\, Itajubaì\, Brazil\, in 1990\, the M.Sc
. degree in energy systems planning from the University of Campinas\, Camp
