DESCRIPTION:A Panel Discussion at the 27th International Conference on Comp
uter and Information Technology (ICCIT 2024) has been jointly organized by
the IEEE Bangladesh Section on 20 December 2024.\n\nKeynote Title: Naviga
ting the Future of K-12 Computing Education in the Age of AI\, Networked C
 onnectivity\, and Digital Transformation”\n\nAbstract:\nK-12 computing e
ducation forms the bedrock of a nation’s future technological competency
. The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled us to redefine our learning spaces a
nd pedagogical approaches. While the pandemic has passed\, there was no re
turn to past. The post-COVID era now coincides with the rapid emergence of
transformative technologies such as AI\, ChatGPT\, and large language mod
els. These advancements are set to reshape pedagogy fundamentally\, prompt
ing critical questions to reimagining the foundation:\n\n• What should b
e taught in schools in an AI-driven and networked world?\n• What skills
should be assessed\, and how?\n• Who will teach\, and what role will tec
hnology play in augmenting educators?\n• How should the goals of formal
K-12 education evolve to meet future demands?\n• How should K-12 CS educ
ation take advantage of global connectivity?\n\nHowever\, in emerging econ
omies\, challenges such as limited infrastructure\, scarce resources\, and
the sheer scale of educational systems add layers of complexity to reimag
ining this foundation. These challenges are magnified in the developing wo
rld\, where digital inequality and resource constraints must be overcome t
o leverage advanced educational technologies effectively. This panel bring
s together a diverse group of global experts\, including educators\, polic
y experts\, and technologists\, to explore these urgent questions. Panelis
ts will provide a glimpse of current practices around the world and share
their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities presented by the in
tegration of advanced digital tools in K-12 computer science education for
emerging economies. Join us as we discuss how nations can adapt and thriv
e in this new era of global digital education.\n\nPanelists :\n\nJoshua Ha
