This talk will highlight how Dendritic fosters innovation\, enhanc es FGCU’s academic programs\, and contributes to local and global soluti ons\, while positioning itself as a leader in AI/DS in Southwest Florida a nd beyond.\n\nBio\nDr. Leandro de Castro has a B.Sc. in Electrical Enginee ring from the Federal University of Goias (1996)\, M.Sc. (1998) and Ph.D. (2001) in Computer Engineering from Unicamp\, and an MBA in Strategic Busi ness Management from the Catholic University of Santos (2008)\, all in Bra zil. He was a Research Associate at the University of Kent in Canterbury\, UK (2001-2002)\, a Visiting Professor at the Malaysian Technological Univ ersity (2005)\, a Visiting Professor at Unicamp (2012)\, and a Visiting Re search Professor at the University of Salamanca (2014). He was an Assistan t Professor at the Master’s Program in Informatics at Unisantos (2003-20 08)\, an Associate Professor at the Graduate Program in Electrical Enginee ring and Computing at Mackenzie Presbyterian University (2008-2022)\, and the Chief Executive Officer at In.lab (Center for Research\, Development\, and Innovation of AI Applied to Health) (2022-2023). Dr. de Castro has au thored 4 books\, had more than 250 scientific papers published\, and over the past four years (2020-2023) was recognized as among the 2% most influe ntial researchers in the world based on scientific impact indices monitore d by PLoS Biology. He has already served as Research Chair (2016-2017)\, a nd as Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer in previous universiti es (2017-2020). Dr. Leandro de Castro also co-founded three AI-based start ups in Brazil and invested as an angel investor in other three technology startups.
