DESCRIPTION:Special Presentation by Ngo Thi Huyen Minh\, co-founder and Gen
eral director of Will to Live\n\nPart of the Future Networks Monthly Webin
ar Series\n\nDate/Time: Wednesday\, 19 March 2025 @ 11:00AM ET\n\nTopic:\n
\nEmpowering Women Leaders in Challenging Times\n\nAbstract:\n\nThis talk
celebrates the accomplishments that women have made in the lives of others
through empowering them through technology. We provide comprehensive supp
ort for people with disability. The Will to Live Center (WLC) is a nonprof
it\, based in Hanoi\, Vietnam\, that provides free computer and life skill
s training courses\, to people with disabilities\, in order to help them f
ind employment and integrate fully into society. The WLC\, also runs sever
al social initiatives with the goal of ending the discrimination and stigm
a that people with disabilities face\, on a daily basis.\n\nThe Will to Li
ve Center supports and assists people with disabilities\, to integrate com
pletely into society\, through employment services and social initiatives.
Our vision is to support people living with disabilities and provide them
with technology and life skills\, to ensure equal opportunities and acces
s in the technical field and society as whole.\n\nFind out more info at ht
tps://en.nghilucsong.net/about-will-to-live-center/\n\nSpeaker:\n\nI am th
e co-founder and General director of Will to Live- Social Enterprise which
is providing free IT training and job support for people with disabilitie
s in Vietnam.\n\nWith more than 15 years work with people with disabilitie
s and over 10 years of experience in Human resource and management. I star
ted up this business in order to establish an inclusive study and working
environment for the disabled\, especially disabled women. Because I am con
vinced that education helps PWDs to find employment and generate an income
.\n\nI believe the best workplace for PwDs is where they feel like their h
ome\, where they can receive personalized and continual care from their ex
tended family members\; especially for PwDs with mobility issues\, working
from home provides immense savings in time and cost in transporting in Vi
etnam's congested traffic.\n\nIt is such a rough journey that I saw how co
mputers\, technology and the internet really changed their lives. They hav
e jobs\, more friends and they really touched the world with their finger!
even by their toes as some of them have to use the keyboard by feet inste
ad of hands!\n\nWe have trained more than 1500 people with disabilities an
d more than 70% of them now are having decent jobs. Since the start we com
mitted to keep the staff with at least 40% PWDs (now more than 50%). And a
ll the shareholders committed their support in sustainable inclusion by co
ntributing their profit each to fund for vocational training for PWDs and
disadvantaged groups and the philanthropic work in the country.\n\nVirtual
