DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\n\nWhile the industry is still fighting hard to gain
5G service market shares\, especially on the Industrial IoT (mMTC) domain\
, the standard communities\, such as 3GPP and ITU-R\, have started working
on the next generation (6G) standard of commercial wireless standards und
er the banner of IMT-2030 since 2020. The targeted date for the release of
6G standard is 2030\, but what are the differences\, especially in user e
xperiences\, we can expect from the new generation of the wireless communi
cation system?\n\nNew technologies\, such as “Integrated Communications
and Sensing (ISAC)”\, “Terrestrial Network (TN) and Non-Terrestrial Ne
twork (NTN) interconnecting”\, and “AI-Native Core Networks and Radio
Access Network (RAN)”\, have been discussed in various standard and indu
strial forums\, but what the implications for these technologies will be s
haping the 6G communications?\n\n“AI-Native for 6G” was originally an
idea for improving the Core Network and RAN operational efficiency for ene
rgy saving\; however\, thanks to the powerful GPUs\, offered by companies
like NVIDIA and AMD\, along with the rise of Generative-AI development\, t
he dream of building a future intelligent network with effective radio cha
nnel estimations\, network intelligence with smart apps\, and computing on
edge all seem to be possible now. Riding on the wave of the AI discussion
s\, we can expect "AI in Core Network"\, "AI in RAN"\, and "AI-powered App
lications and Services"\, to be key elements for 6G Communications\; howev
er\, how realistic these goals can be achieved by\, say 2035?\n\nFurthermo
re\, in order to achieve a much better user experience for the next genera
tion communications\, the industry needs to provide sustainable ubiquitous
connectivity to support immersive communications\, and support ultra-real
istic display for XR in Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to make seamless "
Cyber (Meta)-Physical World" connection. How will satellite services\, suc
h as Starlink once mistakenly recognized as “6G Network” by many\, alo
ng with other NTN solutions\, such as HAPS\, play out in 6G?\n\nMany of th
ese topics are still under discussions in various standard (e.g. 3GPP) and
 industrial forums (e.g. Next G Alliance\, XGMF\, and 6G Frum). There are
tremendous opportunities for research and technology development and let
’s stride for 6G together!\n\nSpeaker(s): Mitch Tseng\n\nRoom: 108\, Bld
