DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to introduce students to the safe and proper
use of biosafety cabinets\, essential equipment for handling biological a
gents in the laboratory. Through theoretical and practical sessions\, part
icipants will learn the operating principles\, the different types of cabi
nets (Class I\, II\, and III)\, their specific applications\, and the inte
rnational regulations related to their use.\n\nDuring the practical part\,
students will learn how to properly operate a Class II biosafety cabinet\
, including start-up and shutdown procedures\, work area organization\, as
eptic work techniques\, cross-contamination prevention measures\, and clea
ning and disinfection practices before and after use. Key aspects such as
the protection of the operator\, the product\, and the environment will al
so be addressed.\n\nThis workshop seeks to strengthen students' technical
and biosafety skills\, promoting a culture of responsibility and good prac
tices when working with potentially hazardous biological materials.\n\nCo-
