ent Surfaces for Radar and Communications\n\nAbstract: In recent years\, r
econfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) have shown promising abilities t
o control and manipulate electromagnetic (EM) waves through modified surfa
ce boundary conditions. These surfaces are electrically thin and comprise
an array of spatially varying sub-wavelength scattering elements (or meta-
atoms). Through careful engineering of each meta-atom\, RISs can transform
an incident EM wave into an arbitrarily tailored transmitted or reflected
wavefront. RISs are being considered for future generation wireless syste
ms and are already rapidly enabling novel applications in sensing and comm
unications such as non-line-of-sight coverage\, index modulation\, polariz
ation modulation\, and adaptable patterns. This talk will explore applicat
ions of RISs to radar\, wireless communications\, and joint radar-communic
ations. Toward the end\, we will touch upon deep learning-based techniques
for RIS inverse design.\n\nDr. Mishra has served as the Distinguished Lec
