DESCRIPTION:Talk of Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Jorge Torres Gómez\, Technical Univer
sity of Berlin\, Germany\n\nDevelopments in the Molecular Communication (M
 C) field are laying the groundwork for innovative bio-inspired communicati
on links in the healthcare sector and industry sectors. Theoretical and ex
perimental works illustrate today’s means of monitoring and actuating ev
ents occurring in the nanoscale domain through the Internet. However\, MC
links pose new challenges in the dynamic environments of molecules and bio
-entities like cells\, where a communication system is complex to describe
and develop through relying on a full knowledge of the physical channel.
Relying on the flexibility and robustness of Machine Learning (ML) methods
\, the research community is increasingly contributing by including Neural
Network (NN) architectures within the MC pipeline. The research field inc
ludes various facets as developed by the community: Deployment of NNs to e
nable communications in MC environments\, their implementation in the nano
scale\, explainable approaches for NNs\, and datasets generation for train
ing. This talk aims to provide insights in the evolution of today’s join
t field MC and NNs.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Johannes Kepler University Linz\n\
