 onsortium published the first Universal Serial Bus (USB) specification in 
 January 1996. Initially intended to simplify attaching electronic devices 
 to a PC\, USB became a very successful low-cost\, high-speed interface for
  home and business use. Its ability to support new device classes and func
 tionalities\, including data storage\, power delivery\, and battery chargi
 ng\, has made USB&#39;s cabling\, connectors\, and logo recognizable worldwide
 .\n\nPlease feel free to forward this event to individuals who were involv
 ed in the development of USB or might wish to attend.\n\nLogistics:\n\nThe
  dedication of the USB IEEE Milestone is taking place at the Intel Jones F
 arm Conference Center (2111 NE 25th Avenue\, Hillsboro\, Oregon\, 97124). 
 Registration for the event is required. You must register with the IEEE vT
 ools event\, prior (email) RSVPs are not acceptable. As it is on Intel pro
 perty\, Intel Security is requiring a name and the company/organization th
 ey represent for all attendees. The registration deadline in July\, 24th\,
  midnight (PDT). General Oregon IEEE members\, who are not Intel employees
