DESCRIPTION:On August 1st\, 2025\, the IEEE PES Chapter carried out a techn
 ical visit to the IAN-R1 nuclear reactor\, located at the CAN headquarters
  of the Colombian Geological Service in Bogotá\, during the session the p
 articipants attended an introductory talk covering the principles of nucle
 ar energy\, the history and evolution of the IAN-R1 reactor in Colombia\, 
 and its applications in scientific research\, following the presentation\,
  attendees took part in a guided tour of the facility\, where they learned
  about the reactor’s operation\, its safety systems\, nuclear fuel manag
 ement\, and radiological safety protocols.\n[]\nThe visit allowed students
  to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications\, clarify d
 oubts about nuclear energy and expand their understanding of the technolog
 ical potential within the nuclear sector\, this was a valuable opportunity
  to reinforce the chapter’s commitment to advanced technical education a
 nd its relationship with leading research institutions in Colombia.	[]\n\n
