DESCRIPTION:On August 2\, 2025\, Nirma University hosted an expert lecture
by Prof. Akshay Kumar Rathore on advanced power electronic systems for tra
nsportation and renewable energy. The event was organized by the IEEE stud
ent branch SBNU\, with support from the IEEE Power and Energy Society and
the Joint Chapter of IEEE IES-IASPELS. Prof. Rathore\, an IEEE Fellow\, pr
esented novel\, high-efficiency converter designs. His talk covered key to
pics such as shutterless feed systems\, snubberless converters\, soft swit
ching\, and bidirectional Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters for EV charg
ing. He also discussed multilevel converters and the broader EV ecosystem\
, highlighting the importance of grid integration. The event included an i
