DESCRIPTION:SusTech Talk August 2025 – Using metrics for improved sustain
ability forecasting\n\n“Using metrics for improved sustainability foreca
sting”\n\nwith Ronald Hasenberger\, Bell Labs Consulting (Nokia)\, Vienn
 a\, Austria\n\nDate/Time: Wednesday\, August 27\, 11am-Noon Pacific Time (
8pm CET)\n\nMetrics can be used not only for capturing the current state o
f a system but also to help to improve quantitative forecasting. Many of t
he initiatives and technologies that are suitable to help the planet will
be long running and require perseverance to complete as well as verificati
on of their effectiveness\, direction and expected future progress. Metric
s can be used to take an inventory of current achievements and give an ind
ication on the expected future trajectory\, i.e. forecast what is still to
come.\n\nThis talk will demonstrate how lagging and leading metrics can b
e used to provide valuable information on progress achieved in sustainabil
ity projects as well as expectation for future progress\, helping to keep
 motivation for continuation high.\n\nSpeaker(s): Ronald Hasenberger\, \n\n
