DESCRIPTION:Invited Talk\n\nSatellite Computing Power Networks: Introductio
 n\, Developments\, and Future Perspectives\n\nProfessor Bomin Mao\n\nNorth
 western Polytechnical University\, China\n\nAbout the Talk\n\nThe commerci
al applications of Starlink have inspired worldwide countries and organiza
tions to compete the construction of satellite constellations\, especially
in the area of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The deployment of Inter-
Satellite Links (ISLs) has constructed the satellite networks crossing dif
ferent orbits and constellations. Researchers have also considered the con
nections of satellites of different functions to realize the Integrated Co
mmunications\, Navigation\, and remote Sensing (ICNS)\, which can mutually
promote the provided service quality. Another trend is the continuously g
rowing computation capacity of satellite hardware to enable the onboard pr
ocessing of different kinds of tasks\, which can further alleviate the lat
ency and transmission overhead. Satellite Computing Power Networks (SCPNs)
can realize the coordination of different satellites to provide enough co
mputation resource. In this talk\, we first introduce the basic knowledge
of satellite communications. Then\, the advantages and development of ICNS
and SCPNs are explained. Finally\, the challenges and future directions c
onnecting AI and LLM will be discussed.\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\nBomin Mao
is currently a Professor in Northwestern Polytechnical University\, China.
He was an associate professor (from 2020 to 2021) and an assistant profes
sor (from 2019 to 2020) in Tohoku University\, Japan. His research interes
ts involve satellite networks\, Internet of Things (IoT)\, vehicular netwo
rks\, and edge computing. He received several Best Paper Awards from inter
 national conferences\, namely IEEE GLOBECOM’17\, GLOBECOM’18\, IC-NIDC
’18\, ICC’23\, and WOCC’23. He was a recipient of the prestigious IE
EE ComSoc TCCN Publication Contribution Award (2024)\, IEEE ComSoc Asia Pa
