DESCRIPTION:In Pakistan\, orphans form one of the most marginalized groups\
, with UNICEF estimating their number at around 4.2 million. A large propo
rtion of these children lack shelter\, often living on the streets where t
hey are vulnerable to abuse\, exploitation\, drug use\, crime\, and beggin
g. Since the majority of them are under the age of 17\, ensuring access to
both primary and higher education is vital for their future and for the u
pliftment of society as a whole. With this in mind\, a collaborative proje
ct between the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)\, Isl
amabad\, and Al-Ijaz Education System\, Punjab\, was launched to engage or
phaned children in STEM-based learning. The initiative aimed to empower ce
rtified orphans through interactive educational activities that serve both
 a humanitarian and developmental purpose.\n\nAs part of the project\, a S
TEM workshop was organized for 100 students aged 10–15. The workshop fea
tured hands-on learning experiences in areas such as electronic circuits\,
robotics\, radar\, the Internet of Things (IoT)\, and home automation. To
encourage continued exploration beyond the sessions\, each student receiv
ed a STEM workbook designed to guide further self-learning and practice. T
his initiative was made possible through support from the IEEE Region 10 E
ducational Activities Project Development Grant 2025 & TryEngineering STEM
Grants 2025 and was carefully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)\, particularly those focused on eradicating pove
rty\, promoting quality education\, and reducing inequalities.\n\n[]\n\nCo
