DESCRIPTION:Title of Talk: Towards a Sustainable Future: Energy-Efficient D
esign for 6G\n\nAbstract:\n\nThis talk will present a compelling vision fo
r 6G networks that prioritize energy efficiency alongside performance\, ad
dressing the critical need to balance escalating traffic demands with sust
ainability goals. We will delve into the design philosophy required for 6G
\, emphasizing the integration of energy-saving features within the device
and radio access network (RAN). The importance of standardized methodolog
ies for evaluating energy-saving potential will be highlighted\, paving th
e way for a future where 6G networks are both powerful and environmentally
responsible.\n\nAgenda: \n1. Title of Talk: Towards a Sustainable Future:
Energy-Efficient Design for 6G\n\n2. Abstract: This talk will present a c
ompelling vision for 6G networks that prioritize energy efficiency alongsi
de performance\, addressing the critical need to balance escalating traffi
c demands with sustainability goals. We will delve into the design philoso
phy required for 6G\, emphasizing the integration of energy-saving feature
s within the device and radio access network (RAN). The importance of stan
dardized methodologies for evaluating energy-saving potential will be high
lighted\, paving the way for a future where 6G networks are both powerful
and environmentally responsible.\n\n3. Biography of the Speaker: Muhammad
Tayyab received the B.Sc. degree from the University of the Punjab\, Lahor
e\, Pakistan\, in 2012\, the M.S. degree from the King Fahd University of
Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM)\, Saudi Arabia\, in 2017\, and the Ph.D. de
gree from the Aalto University\, Finland\, in 2021\, all in electrical eng
ineering. Since 2022\, he has been Senior Research Specialist at Nokia Sta
ndards\, Finland. He has more than 10 years of experience with a telco ope
rator (Wi-tribe Pakistan)\, and equipment vendors (Nokia and Huawei Helsin
ki Research Center\, Finland). His research interests span a range of area
s\, including device and network energy saving in 5G\, and 6G\, mobility m
anagement for dense cellular networks\, RF planning and optimization\, fle
xible RF sensor development\, and UAVs. He has strong track record of inno
vation\, evidenced by several inventions (49 of which have been published
and the remaining filed by Nokia) and 26 research articles. He received th
e Gold Medal Award for obtaining the first position in the B.Sc. degree.\n
