DESCRIPTION:Special Presentation by [INGR](https://futurenetworks.ieee.org/
roadmap) [QIT Working Group](https://futurenetworks.ieee.org/roadmap/qit-w
orking-group)\, [Security and Privacy Working Group](https://futurenetwork
s.ieee.org/roadmap/security-and-privacy-working-group)\, [AI/ML Working Gr
oup](https://futurenetworks.ieee.org/roadmap/aiml-working-group)\, and the
[eMerging Open Tech Foundation](https://www.eotf.in/eotf/) which focuses
on Quantum and AI skills development.\n\nDate/Time: Thursday\, 25 Septembe
r 2025 @ 9 AM PDT\n\nTopic:\n\nQuantum Key Distribution (QKD) Panel Webina
r\n\nAbstract:\n\nThe subject of Data Sovereignty\, Security and Privacy h
as become a major factor in national and regional Quantum initiatives to a
dopt Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). Although QKD is to safeguard communic
ation across different digital facilities across different nations and reg
ions it comes down to how to deal with Quantum Channel versus Classical Ch
annels of communication. The Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)\, Private
as well Physical and Virtual Infrastructure can not be just managed by Cr
yptography Algorithms recommended by National Institute of Standards and T
esting (NIST) and other Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) includin
g IEEE. It needs a Sovereign & Secure (S&S) communication within the bound
s of Quantum and Classical communication channels for Quantum and Classica
l communication\, sometimes referred to as hybrid communication in this co
ntext.\n\nThe Architecture of QKD and system level components will be take
n up by one or more panel speakers.\n\nThe Quantum and Network Communicati
on experts in this QKD webinar will then focus on the Teleporting\, and Qu
antum protocols like BB84 to detect eavesdropping\, other BB84x variants\,
 E91 (Ekert 91)\, Device Independent (DI-QKD) for S&S communication.\n\nTh
e expert panel on QKD will walk you through three approaches to address QK
D exchange. The primary being the Multi Fiber Channel (MFC) using example
1 of 4 Channels being used for Quantum and rest for Classical Data to achi
eve S & S Objective. The other one will be to use SatCom facility to distr
ibute key with Light Earth Orbital (LEO) and Terrestrial vs. Non-Terrestri
al networks.\n\nFinally an Integrated QKD over MFC and SatCom will differ
in cost and hybrid implementation will reduce cost and achieve S&S QKD and
help global regions to keep peace without getting into hacking and eavesd
ropping and Harvest now and decrypt later posture.\n\nSpeaker:\n\nCo-spons
