DESCRIPTION:About the Network Innovation Centre:\nThe SA Power Networks Net
work Innovation Centre was first established in 2012 in response to disrup
tive changes that were becoming apparent in the electricity industry\, mai
nly as a result of the progressive introduction of distributed renewable g
eneration within the distribution network. The objective of the centre was
to trial and test new energy technologies\, and design innovative solutio
ns to integrate them into the grid. The Centre now not only continues to d
evelop these technologies but also is used to inform and educate stakehold
ers about the impact of new technologies and the strategies needed for Sou
th Australia to continue its leading role in the global energy transition.
The centre incorporates both network-related technologies (e.g. automated
network management programming) and customer-side technologies (e.g. smar
t house\, smart meters\, solar and battery installation and control\, and
electric vehicles).\n\nTour Highlights:\n• A site and safety induction t
o familiarise all visitors with the facility and its environment.\n• A g
uided walkthrough of the centre\, showcasing a range of innovative technol
ogies shaping the future of SA Power Networks and South Australia’s ener
gy landscape.\n• Insights into cutting-edge customer-side technologies d
elivered by the SA Power Networks team.\n\nArrival & Parking\n• Onsite s
peed limit: 5 km/h\n• Parking is limited onsite – reverse park\nwhere
possible\n• Additional parking available on nearby side\nstreets or at t
he front of the building\n• On arrival: Ring the doorbell on the left si
de\nof the sliding door\; a team member will greet\nyou\, assist with sign
