DESCRIPTION:The convergence of information technology and operational techn
ology in cyber-physical systems (CPSs) has led to highly interconnected an
d autonomous systems. However\, this integration also introduces new attac
 k vectors\, posing significant risks to social\, economic\, and business s
ectors. Securing CPSs requires evaluating both system functionality and se
curity without disrupting ongoing operations. A promising approach to enha
ncing CPS security is the use of digital twins. In this talk\, I will expl
ore how digital twins can serve as security enablers for CPSs. I will also
discuss the security challenges of digital twins\, highlighting potential
abuse cases and presenting countermeasures to mitigate risks posed by mal
icious digital twins.\n\nCo-sponsored by: IEEE Pittsburgh Section SSIT Cha
