 GROUP\n\n(This tour was originally scheduled for June 25\, 2025\, but was 
 cancelled due to the\nextreme heat West Michigan was experiencing at that 
 time and the resulting high\ndemand for power they had to deal with).\n\nL
 OCATION\nThe power plant is located at 347 E. Washington Ave.\, Zeeland MI
  49464.\n\nParking\nTour attendees are encouraged to carpool where possibl
 e due to limited parking in the\narea. Our tour guide will send us instruc
 tions on where to park and where to meet for\nthe tour prior to the tour d
 ate. When we receive those instructions\, we will send them to\nyou in eit
 her another eNotice\, or directly to the email addresses of those signed u
 p to\nattend.\n\nTour\nWe are limited to 20 visitors. Each active IEEE or 
 WMCN member signing up for the\ntour may also sign up one or two non-IEEE/
 WMCN guests. Guests must be at least 14\nyears old.\nThe tour begins at 10
 :00 AM. It is anticipated that we will meet at 350 E. Washington\nAve\, wh
 ich is their office located across the street from the power plant. The ex
 act\nmeeting location will be announced later as noted above. Plan to arri
 ve between 9:45\nand 10:00 AM.\n\nClothing &amp; Footwear Restrictions\n\nFull
  length pants and secure footwear are required. No shorts\, no flip-flops.
  Attire is\notherwise casual.\nOptional Lunch\nAfter the tour\, those inte
 rested will meet for lunch at Frank’s Restaurant located at 134\nE. Main
  Ave in Zeeland. IEEE and WMCN member’s lunch will be paid for by our WM

 W WASHINGTON AVE POWER PLANT FAQs\nThe facility we will tour is operated b
 y the city of Zeeland. It was built in 1935 and\nupgraded during the 1950
 ’s through the 1980’s. They currently have 7 internal\ncombustion gene
 rating units with capacities ranging from 1 to 6 Megawatts. Total\ncapacit
 y is 24 Megawatts. The power units can use both natural gas (primary) and\
 ndiesel (secondary). The facility is a “peaking” facility in that it i
 s only placed online when\nthe demand for electricity exceeds the 930 Mega
 watt capacity of the nearby Consumers\nEnergy Generating Plant on N. Fairv
