DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce Prof. Hideaki Ishii as the speaker o
f the 2025 Colloquium Roberto Tempo in Automatica. These Colloquia Series
are dedicated to the memory of our friend and colleague Roberto\, who pass
ed away suddenly in 2017 during a ski mountaineering trip in the Alps.\n\n
The Colloquia are general seminars held by renowned scientists. They range
over all aspects of systems and control\, and on interdisciplinary subjec
ts where control plays a fundamental role.\n\n6th Colloquium Roberto Tempo
  in Automatica\n\nOctober 10\, 2025 –11:00\n\nSala Consiliare – Dept.
of Electrical and Information Engineering (DEI) – Politecnico di Bari\n\
 nSpeaker:\n\nHideaki Ishii\, The University of Tokyo\, Japan\n\nTitle:\n\n
Resiliency in Multi-Agent Consensus under Adversarial Attacks\n\nAbstract:
\n\nThis talk will provide an overview on the recent research on multi-age
nt systems operating in hostile environments. In the context of consensus
problems\, we will focus on the influence of misbehaving agents in a netwo
rk capable to inject false data in their transmissions and how to mitigat
e such cyber attacks by the approach of the so-called mean subsequence red
uced algorithms and their variants. Agents equipped with such algorithms w
ill ignore their neighbors taking extreme state values. We will see that c
haracterizations on the properties necessary for network topologies can be
established\, and moreover that network resiliency can be enhanced when m
ore communication and computational resources are available. This approach
originates in the area of distributed algorithms in computer science\, bu
t studies in the area of systems control have brought several advances. We
will further discuss extensions of such algorithms to problems of averagi
ng\, parameter estimation\, and clock synchronization in wireless sensor n
 etworks.\n\nShort bio:\n\nHideaki Ishii (Fellow\, IEEE\, IFAC) received th
e M.Eng. degree from Kyoto University in 1998\, and the Ph.D. degree from
 the University of Toronto\, Canada\, in 2002. From 2001 to 2004\, he was a
Post-doc with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, USA\, and
from 2004 to 2007\, a Research Associate with The University of Tokyo\, Ja

the Dept. of Computer Science\, Tokyo Institute of Technology\, Japan. He
is currently a Professor with The University of Tokyo. From 2014 to 2015\,
he was a Humboldt Research Fellow with the University of Stuttgart\, Germ
any.\n\nDr. Ishii has served as an Associate Editor for Automatica\, IEEE
Control Systems Letters\, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control\, IEEE Tr
