DESCRIPTION:• Participation: 25 students aged 15-16 yo\n• 1
4 Arduino set were given including modules to develop satellite prototypin
g and to perform connection through LoRa for IoT application\n• St
udents need to demonstrate the satellite application through CanSat develo
pment\n\nThe event "IoT Meets Space: Expanding STEM Horizons for Underserv
ed Students at Selangor Through Satellite Prototyping" was hosted by Facul
ty of Electrical Engineering\, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and partia
lly funded by IEEE ComSoc under the TryEngineering STEM Grant Program to f
acilitate local Pre-University STEM activities. For the final competition\
, the program engaged 50 students aged 15-16 years at SMK Bandar Baru Sala
k Tinggi (12-13 August 2025) and SMK Seri Sepang (9-10 August 2025). Parti
cipants were provided with 14 Arduino sets and modules to develop satellit
e prototypes and establish connections through LoRa for IoT applications.
The students showcased their projects through CanSat development\, demonst
rating their understanding of satellite applications. This hands-on event
successfully introduced underserved students to space technology and IoT\,
sparking their interest in STEM fields and fostering practical skills. Th
e program highlighted the impact of IEEE ComSoc's efforts in supporting ST
EM education for the next generation of innovators.\n\nSELANGOR\, Selangor
