DESCRIPTION:Join us for the fourth session of the exciting webinar series o
n "New Frontiers in Signal Processing in 6G Wireless Networks"\, a collabo
ration between IEEE Signal Processing\, IEEE Communications Society chapte
rs in Ottawa\, and IEEE ComSoC Young Professionals.\n\nRegister now and st
ay tuned for updates on upcoming speakers and topics!\n\nSpeaker(s): Prof.
Ekram Hossain \n\nAgenda: \nFederated learning (FL) is a distributed mach
ine learning setting where a centralized\nserver trains a learning model b
y using remote devices. FL algorithms cannot be employed in\nwireless netw
orks unless the unreliable and resource-constrained nature of the wireless
medium\nis taken into account. In this talk\, I shall present an FL algor
ithm that is suitable for cellular\nwireless networks in a real-world scen
ario. I shall discuss its convergence properties and the\neffects of local
computation steps and communication steps on its convergence. Through\nex
periments on real and synthetic datasets\, I shall demonstrate the perform
ance of the proposed\nalgorithm. Also\, I will present several application
s of FL in wireless communications scenarios.\n\nVirtual: https://events.v
