DESCRIPTION:On 17th October 2025\, the IEEE NSU Student Branch WIE Affinity
Group\, in collaboration with the IEEE NSU Student Branch\, hosted a webi
nar titled “From Particles to Patterns: Quantum Computing as the Engine
of the Next AI Revolution.” The event was organized in celebration of IE
EE Day 2025 and Ada Lovelace Day 2025 and featured Dr. Sumaiya Tabassum Ni
mi\, Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engi
neering\, North South University. Dr. Nimi is a leading voice in quantum m
achine learning and quantum computation.\n\nThe session began with an intr
oductory segment by the hosts\, who welcomed the audience and invited Dr.
Nimi to begin her lecture.\n\nDr. Nimi delivered a captivating and well-st
ructured talk tracing the evolution of quantum computing and its deep conn
ection to modern AI. She began by revisiting the scientific breakthroughs
that paved the way for quantum computation starting with Einstein’s inte
rpretation of light as both a particle and a wave\, progressing through Sc
hrödinger’s wave equation\, and Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle. T
hese fundamental discoveries laid the foundations of quantum mechanics. Sh
e then connected these principles to computer science\, explaining how var
ious computational fields intersect with quantum theory. Moving forward\,
she introduced the origins of deep learning\, the development of neural ne
tworks\, and how these classical models eventually lead to the emerging fr
ontier of Quantum AI.\n\nDr. Nimi emphasized that Quantum AI has the poten
tial to merge “the physics of the universe” with “the intelligence t
hat learns from it\,” opening transformative possibilities for the futur
e of artificial intelligence. She highlighted how Quantum AI could redefin
e scalability\, optimization\, data processing\, and problem-solving capab
ilities across industries.\n\nShe also invited participants to explore QUI
CK Quantum Mechanics Guided Intelligent Computation for Knowledge-Based Sy
stems\, encouraging students to engage with research at the intersection o
f quantum physics and AI. She concluded her talk by noting that Ada Lovela
ce herself would likely have worked in Quantum AI if she were alive today.
\n\nA lively interactive Q&A session followed\, where Dr. Nimi answered qu
estions on research directions\, industry relevance\, and the evolving rol
e of quantum technologies in computing.\n\nThe event concluded with a vote
of thanks from the IEEE NSU Student Branch WIE Affinity Group\, expressin
g deep appreciation for Dr. Nimi’s insightful and inspiring session.\n\n
A brief photo session marked the end of the event\, commemorating this eng
aging and intellectually stimulating celebration of IEEE Day and Ada Lovel
ace Day.\n\n[May be an image of text that says "17th October From to Patte
