DESCRIPTION:IEEE Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the first time
in history when engineers\nworldwide and IEEE members gathered to share t
heir technical ideas in 1884. It symbolizes the spirit\nof innovation\, co
llaboration\, and knowledge sharing among engineers and technologists. The
day is\nmarked by global events\, workshops\, technical talks\, and commu
nity service projects organized by\nIEEE student branches and professional
sections. It serves as a reminder of how technology and\nteamwork can dri
ve positive change in society.\nWomen in Engineering (WIE) is one of the l
argest international professional organizations dedicated\nto promoting wo
men engineers and scientists and inspiring young girls to pursue careers i
n\nengineering. As part of IEEE\, WIE focuses on empowering women through
 mentorship\, networking\nopportunities\, leadership development\, and reco
gnition of achievements. It works to create a more\ninclusive engineering
community by supporting diversity\, equal opportunities\, and encouraging\
ncollaboration across all fields of technology.\n\nThe celebration began w
ith the inauguration of the Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group\,\nm
arking an important milestone for the college IEEE Student Branch. The new
ly appointed office\nbearers of the WIE group took their oaths\, committin
g to promote diversity\, inclusion\, and\nempowerment among women in techn
ology. This inauguration symbolized the start of new\nopportunities for co
llaboration\, mentorship\, and leadership development within the student\n
community.\nFollowing this\, the Computer Society Chapter of the IEEE Stud
ent Branch was also inaugurated\, and\nits office bearers were formally in
troduced. The formation of this chapter aims to enhance students’\ntechn
ical knowledge and skills in computer science through workshops\, hackatho
ns\, and researchdriven activities\, further strengthening the branch’s
role in promoting innovation and technical\nexcellence on campus.\nThe eve
nt also featured a special session by Dr. Ashwini Appaji\, Vice Chair of t
he IEEE WIE India\nCouncil\, who delivered an insightful talk on the IEEE
Day theme — “Global Impact\, Student\nOpportunities\, and the Role of
IEEE in Shaping Tomorrow.” Dr. Appaji emphasized the importance\nof IEEE
in fostering innovation\, creating global connections\, and empowering st
udents to become\nleaders in technology. Her session inspired attendees to
actively engage in IEEE initiatives and\ncontribute to building a better
