DESCRIPTION:As digital technologies increasingly mediate human life and sha
pe societal priorities\, ethical frameworks must evolve beyond compliance
toward inclusion\, trust\, and long-term sustainability. This talk introdu
 ces the DIITA framework — Dignity\, Identity\, Inclusion\, Trust\, and A
gency — as an emerging IEEE initiative guiding responsible technology go
vernance. It explores how these values can translate into measurable desig
n\, deployment\, and policy practices across AI\, data systems\, and digit
al infrastructures.\n\nDrawing from recent work on Technology Governance f
or a Living Planet\, the talk expands DIITA from a human-centered ethics m
odel to a planetary inclusion framework\, recognizing that technology’s
social impact is inseparable from its ecological footprint. It highlights
real-world examples\, from digital inclusion initiatives and ethical AI go
vernance to green innovation\, demonstrating how DIITA can help achieve St
rong Sustainability by Design (IEEE Planet Positive 2030).\n\nThrough this
perspective\, the session invites educators\, researchers\, and technolog
ists to view ethical technology not merely as a regulatory duty\, but as a
creative and systemic responsibility — one that safeguards human dignit
y\, fosters trust\, and sustains the living systems that enable our digita
l future.\n\nCo-sponsored by: IEEE Pittsburgh Section SSIT Chapter\n\nSpea
 ker(s): Narayana\, \n\nAgenda: \nPresentation: 9 am (eastern time zone).\n
