DESCRIPTION:General Overview:\n\nTo enhance PES visibility and foster colla
boration\, IEEE PES SBC MACE\, in association with the IEEE IE/PELS Jt. Ch
apter MACE and the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter\, organized AMPOWER – A Proje
ct Expo Competition on Mission Net Zero 2070 on 18 October 2025 at Mar Ath
anasius College of Engineering\, Kothamangalam. The expo provided a platfo
rm for students to showcase innovative projects focused on sustainability
and India’s Mission Net Zero 2070 goals. Over 15 teams and 40 participan
ts presented prototypes in areas such as renewable energy\, smart power sy
stems\, waste management\, and other carbon-neutral technologies. A panel
of faculty and industry professionals evaluated the projects\, recognizing
the best teams for creativity\, technical excellence\, and societal impac
t. This initiative aimed to introduce students to IEEE Power and Energy so
ciety\, strengthen local chapter engagement\, and offer practical exposure
to emerging trends in power and energy systems. Many young students were
brought as viewers for the event to help them ideate and build such innova
tive and impactful projects in the coming future and collaborate more with
IEEE PES Society.\n\nDetailed Description:\n\nAMPOWER was conceptualized
as a student project expo aimed at showcasing sustainable and energy-effic
ient innovations that align with India’s commitment to Mission Net Zero
2070. The initiative provided a platform for students to translate their i
deas into tangible prototypes\, fostering creativity and technical skill w
hile addressing real-world energy and environmental challenges.\n\nGoal :
To promote interdisciplinary innovation focused on renewable energy\, carb
on neutrality\, and sustainable technologies.\n\nThe planning process bega
n several weeks prior to the event\, involving close coordination between
IEEE PES SBC MACE\, IEEE IE/PELS Jt. Chapter MACE\, and the IEEE PES Keral
a Chapter. IEEE PES SBC MACE team managed all logistics\, invitations\, an
d promotional activities. The event was advertised through social media ca
mpaigns\, college circulars\, and the IEEE Kerala Section network to ensur
e wide participation. Participation from almost 20 different colleges were
ensured. From a total of 40 applications\, 15 teams were selected to part
icipate for the final event\, i.e\, the Project exhibition.\n\nAMPOWER was
held on 18th October 2025 at the MACE campus and featured multiple projec
t stalls. Each team presented their prototype before judges and attendees\
, covering innovations in areas such as solar optimization\, electric mobi
lity\, energy-efficient systems\, and sustainable resource management. The
judging panel comprised faculty members and professionals from the energy
sector\, who evaluated the projects on creativity\, technical merit\, and
its relevance in today’s scenario. Many young minds new to the engineer
ing field were invited to be viewers for the expo where they were taught a
bout each project and their underlying mechanism in detail. A total of 110
students participated as viewers for the event and 15 projects were exhib
ited by almost 40 participants.\n\nIn addition to the project presentation
s\, a Membership Development Session was conducted by Jes Gigo\, Kochi Hub
MDC and Chair of IEEE PES SBC MACE. The session highlighted the benefits
of IEEE PES membership and encouraged students to actively engage with glo
bal professional communities in the energy domain. Engr.Harikumar V.P \,vi
ce-chair\,IEEE PES Kerala chapter also shared his views regarding the effe
ctiveness of the event in bringing up young minds to proactively contribut
e for a sustainable tomorrow.\n\nThe event concluded with remarks from dig
nitaries from the college administration\, and top-performing teams were r
ecognized and awarded. The event successfully provided students with hands
-on exposure to emerging trends in the energy sector. The viewers were als
o encouraged to ideate and put up projects for the upcoming competitions.\
n\nOutcomes & Impact:\n\nThe expo significantly enhanced awareness about s
ustainable technologies among participants and visitors. Students gained v
aluable experience in presenting their work to technical experts and peers
\, strengthening their communication and project management skills. A new
vision regarding a sustainable tomorrow was fostered in the minds of the p
articipants\,viewers and volunteers.\n\nThe event marked the first-ever co
llaboration between IEEE PES SBC MACE and the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter\, or
ganized in association with the IEEE IE/PELS Jt. Chapter MACE. This partne
rship greatly contributed to the participation strength and reach of the p
rogram. The presence of the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter Vice Chair\, who inter
acted with the participants and appreciated their efforts\, added immense
value to the event.\n\nAs a direct outcome\, IEEE PES SBC MACE membership
increased from 39(at the time of MDI event approval) to 80 members and sti
ll increasing\, reflecting the heightened enthusiasm and engagement of stu
dents. Volunteer participation within PES also saw a notable rise\, with s
everal new members actively involved in organizing and managing the event.
\n\nThrough AMPOWER\, IEEE PES SBC MACE furthered its mission of nurturing
young engineers committed to sustainability and clean energy solutions\,
while building a stronger and more collaborative PES community at MACE.\n\
nAgenda: \nTo increase the engagement among students for IEEE Power and En
ergy society and make their vision aligned for a sustainable and better to
morrow.\n\nRoom: M-118\, Bldg: Main Auditorium\,Main Building\, Mar Athana
