DESCRIPTION:The seminar will cover the latest advances in eXtremely Large (
 XL) Multiple-Input Multiple-\nOutput (MIMO) wireless systems as well as th
 eir emerging applications\, giving emphasis on a\ngeneric multi-hybrid tra
 nsceiver hardware architecture comprising programmable\nmetasurfaces\, whi
 ch offers signal processing capabilities both in the digital and analog\nd
 omains as well as over-the-air via the direct manipulation of the electrom
 agnetic waves.\nSystem models and signal processing schemes enabling energ
 y- and cost-efficient multi-user\nwireless communications and sensing\, as
  well as their integrated realization will be discussed.\nIn addition\, em
 erging XL MIMO systems leveraging nonlinear signal processing components\n
 and performing over-the-air inference tasks will be presented. The seminar
  will be concluded\nwith a list of novel perspectives and future direction
 s for XL-MIMO-based computing in future\nwireless networks\n\nSpeaker(s):
