DESCRIPTION:Traditional control systems for Concentrated Solar Power (CSP)
plants rely on rigid\, wired architectures that are costly to install and
maintain\, difficult to scale\, and struggle with real-time operational de
mands. This talk introduces a transformative framework that leverages Soft
ware-Defined Networking (SDN) and advanced wireless communication technolo
gies to create intelligent\, autonomous\, and resilient solar energy syste
ms. The talk introduces HELIOCOMM\, a holistic\, SDN-based architecture th
at decouples the network's control logic from the physical hardware\, enab
ling centralized management and programmability. This approach addresses c
ritical challenges in large-scale solar fields\, including interference ma
nagement\, energy efficiency\, and low-latency data transmission. By repla
cing complex cabling with a flexible wireless infrastructure\, this framew
ork significantly reduces costs\, enhances scalability\, and improves oper
ational efficiency\, paving the way for the next generation of sustainable
 solar power.\n\nSpeaker(s): Prof. Tsiropoulou\, \n\nVirtual: https://even
